Panasonic’s wearable device aids concentration by limiting senses of sight and hearing

Wear Space by Panasonic is a wearable prototype device created to aid concentration by limiting one’s senses of sight and hearing. Designed similar to a set of horse blinkers, the project employs a partition that controls the wearer’s field of view, as well as noise-cancellation and filtering functions to block out any undesired sounds.

Developed by Future Life Factory, a studio in the company‘s design center specialized in cutting-edge designs, wear space caters to the new breed of digital nomads or individuals whose work takes place in open plan offices, and who need to define their own personal space where they can block out distractions and focus. The portable device, created in partnership with fashion designer Kunihiko Morinaga, can be carried around everywhere, is easy to wear, and is made of a flexible material that can be twisted and folded instantly.
